Delivered and proven

Everything upstream is judged by the last hundred metres. The final mile is where a shipment becomes a delivery, and where the difference between 'left in a safe place' and a signed, photographed, time-stamped handover decides whether anyone ever argues about it.

Signature, printed name, timestamp, GPS position and a photograph of the goods where they were left. All five are attached to your consignment record within minutes, not at the end of the driver's shift. A delivery that cannot be evidenced is, for insurance purposes, a delivery that did not happen.

Receivers get a realistic window and a live position rather than a twelve-hour guess. Failed deliveries are expensive for everyone, and most of them are caused by an estimate that was never credible. Where nobody can be present, we redeliver to an agreed slot or hold securely rather than abandoning a parcel on a step.

The last handover is still a handover

The last handover is still a handover

The final scan carries the same operator ID and location stamp as every scan before it. The chain does not get looser because the box is nearly home — that is precisely where most losses happen, and precisely why we tighten it instead.

Final mile: what our crew says

Five of the team who run this part of CargoVault, on the work itself and on how far the company has come. Let it drift, or drag it yourself.

Grace Sullivan

Final mile supervisor, London

“We stopped guessing delivery windows and started telling the truth about them. Failed deliveries fell off a cliff and the drivers stopped dreading Fridays.”

BF

Bruno Fischer

Courier team lead, Berlin

“Every one of my riders photographs the handover. It protects the customer and, honestly, it protects us too. Nobody argues with a picture.”

ML

Marie Laurent

Delivery experience, Brussels

“I joined when we were covering one city. We now run doorstep proof across a continent and it is still the same standard I was trained on in week one.”

AP

Andrei Pop

Route planner, Cluj

“Realistic routing means drivers finish on time and customers get a window they can plan around. Growth did not cost us that — it funded it.”

SB

Saoirse Byrne

Receiver support, Dublin

“When someone calls worried about a parcel, I can tell them exactly which street it is on. Ten years ago that sentence would have been science fiction.”
